A planning experience built for you

Funke Law stands apart because we focus on proactive, relationship‑driven planning—not just producing documents. Every estate plan is designed to evolve with you, your family, and the law.

  • Family‑centered philosophy: We go beyond drafting Wills and Trusts to create comprehensive strategies that anticipate future needs, from tax changes to shifting family dynamics.

  • Deeply personalized service: Your family, goals, and legacy are unique—your plan should be too.

  • Lifetime client relationship: Your plan isn’t a one‑time transaction. We are committed to reviewing and updating it as your life, assets, and the law change.

  • Education and empowerment: We help you understand your options so you can make informed decisions that truly reflect your values.

  • Technology‑driven efficiency: Modern tools make the planning process smoother, faster, and more accessible.

Meet the team

Paul Funke

Paul has dedicated his entire career to trust and estate work. He launched his own estate and business planning practice right out of law school, then joined U.S. Bank as a trust officer, managing and auditing trusts nationwide. His expertise later led him to Hansen Dordell, where he became a Partner in 2020 and returned to the client-focused work he loves.

In 2021, Paul founded Funke Law, where he continues to provide clear, practical guidance to families and business owners. He has been recognized as a Five Star Professional and a Super Lawyers Rising Star—an honor awarded to fewer than 2.5% of Minnesota attorneys.

Outside the office, Paul enjoys life in Maple Grove with his wife, Ashley, and their three kids—Jack, Marley, and Charlie. They love traveling, spending time outdoors, and cheering on the Minnesota Vikings.

Owner, Attorney

Amy Votava

Amy began her career as a paralegal at a small estate planning firm after earning her degree in Legal Office Administration from Minneapolis Business College in 2010. During her time there, she gained valuable experience drafting wills and trusts and assisting clients through the probate process.

In 2018, Amy decided to step away from her career to focus on raising her son. Once he began school full-time, she was eager to return to the legal field and joined the Funke Law team in 2025. Amy enjoys helping clients through the often uncomfortable but important process of planning for the future.

Outside of work, Amy loves spending time with her family at their cabin- whether it’s four-wheeling, snowmobiling, or simply enjoying the outdoors. She’s also passionate about animals and music and has been learning to play the piano and guitar.
